Wonderful feedback following Peter Boglioli's

Problem Horse Demonstation Clinic

Saturday, July 10th 2010

at Bow Brickhill Stables

ANY HORSE, ANY DISCIPLINE, ANY PROBLEM

Thanks to all of the participants and many auditors that made Saturday's clinic such a success!  We all watched with eager anticipation as Peter worked with four horses with very different problems.  In the first session, Peter took a mare rescued from Camelot auction, whom he had never seen before, and showed us the defensive roots to her tendency to rear up and flip over when worked in an arena.  Peter used ground exercises to begin to restore her confidence in handlers, and by the afternoon session was able to demonstrate her potential by mounting her in the roundpen in a calm and stress-free manner.  Later, he worked with a young jumper who has been wholly unwilling to jump during the past year (her dismayed owner explained that she won't even jump over a groundhog).  Working through ground exercises at first and then progressing to training under saddle (with the owner riding her mare), Peter wowed us all by encouraging the mare and owner towards a more collaborative relationship.  In the end, they were jumping tight jumps in the roundpen without a glimpse of hesitation let alone refusal.

Based on the extremely positive feedback we received from the July 10th clinic, we are working with Peter to develop a series of group training sessions to teach riders the tools that Peter so effectively uses, as well as other events.  Check back for updates.

Peter is generally available during our Sunday Morning Coffee sessions (9AM-11AM) to discuss your questions.  Feel free to drop by!

Peter has been solving horse and rider issues for more than 25 years, both in the US and abroad.  His clients include hunters, jumpers, dressage, western and pleasure horses.  With the well-being of the horse as his priority, Peter works with all disciplines and levels to increase confidence, respect and sensitivity.

Peter began riding at the age of four, growing up on the family farm.  While acquiring his degree at Cook College, Rutgers University, Peter started to cultivate his interest in human psychology and animal behavior.  Although involved in an equine culture that included hunters, jumpers, dressage, and driving, Peter became greatly influenced by the teachings of horsemen such as Tom Dorrence and Ray Hunt.  In pursuit of greater knowledge of the horse/human relationship, Peter took the opportunity to work on ranches that promoted the Vaquero tradition.  Coming back East, Peter began integrating his new found knowledge with his classical foundation to help horses, riders, and trainers alike to deal with challenges they were facing to form better partnerships.  His vast and varied experiences throughout the US and abroad have enabled Peter to reach clients of all levels and disciplines.  He is in his element whether starting a colt, helping a show jumper regain his confidence over fences, or reschooling a thoroughbred off the track for a career in eventing.

Peter takes on a horse that won't load.  Using just a lounge line, Peter uses simple techniques to maximum effect.  By making the horse work when it is outside the trailer, and developing an association in the horse's mind between loading and rest, Peter quickly has this horse walking into the trailer un-led.
